About the National Confidential Forum
The Scottish Govenment is committed to providing support for adult survivors of childhood abuse.
In September 2009 Scottish Ministers gave approval for a Pilot Forum, Time to be Heard, to hear testimony from adults who had formerly been residents of Quarriers (which before 1983 was the largest children's home in Scotland), with the aim of making recommendations on a wider wollout of such a forum.
Following the success of Time to be Heard Scottish Ministers indicated their support for a National Confidential Forum and agreed to introduce legislation to establish this.
